I have a 2005 9-3 arc, auto trans . I noticed early on that the gas mileage was not great but was told by service dep't that it should get better after the break in period. Well it never got better; in fact it has gotten worse. Very easy-on-the-pedal city driving I am getting 14.5 mpg (us gallon) which is around 17.2 mpg (imperial gallon in canada) and 16.6 Litres per 100 km (Canada's metric system)
I have complained to Saab service every time I'm in the shop. They claim that all is ok , can't find any problem etc. Even given cold weather and short city trips, these mileage numbers are so far off what other 9-3s seem to be getting there must be something wrong. But where to begin if the dealer service dep't claims, Monty Python style, that all is ok?
