I have an '07 SS 2.0T, manual shift. I drive 50 miles/day with about 44 of that being highway w/ occaisional bouts of stop and go traffic. I am an intentional light brake user and probably don't kick in the ESP at all. I don't see much brake dust on any of the wheels but I usually rinse the car and wheels at least once per week with a garden hose. I expect the rears to last until maybe 40k.
Given what's in the archives it appears the rear pad wear varies considerably depending on driving habits and perhaps some occaisional mechanical issues (cars that sat on the lot a long time might be more prone to sticking calipers, brakes that are overheated from excessive downhill braking might be more prone to sticking, some calipers may have been assembled incorrectly at the factory facilatating pad wear...someone recently mentioned a spring than can be installed incorrectly and cause exessive pad wear). Appears the common range for rear pad wear is 20k to 40k.
I've been told the rear pads on the '07 are glued to the backing plate rather than rivited so it appears you can run them closer to the plate and eyeball the remaining pad (though the inside pad may wear differently than outside).
