Experience w/ Purolator Oil Filter in V6 Aero?

Anyone have any experience using a Purolator oil filter element in the 2.8 V6 engine? I have a 2009 Aero with 5k miles on it and want to do a oil+filter change. Certainly looks easy enough to do. Have heard some not so flattering things about Fram filters. Was also thinking K&N oil filter... Any suggestions and opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much,
Scott
