The AWD system will transfer torque to the rear wheels if necessary, so it will NOT produce torque steer.
I checked using the wife's AWD Aero and could not make it happen, from a standstill, low-speed, etc.
I have to disagree with Mike Lynch on the 4-vs-6 debate; the four really is a great engine, and with that extra 30 horses I could easily make the switch. BUT. When shopping for her 9-3, we tested a very nice 9-3 2.0T against an AWD Aero. It was quick off the line and very lively, but if you drive around 40 mph and hammer it on each vehicle, the V-6 takes off. Plus it is far smoother and luxurious. On the other hand the 2.0 gets killer gas mileage (but I'm happy with around 30 mpg hwy for my '06 Aero FWD).
It's all in what you're looking for.
