I love it. My best anecdote (I'll repeat it, although I've posted before) is that I was turning left from a stop sign into traffic, it was summer and the windows were down. I punched it (2008 Turbo-X SportCombi 6 speed) and entered traffic. I smelled something and thought to myself "that smells like burning rubber". Then I thought "oh, burning rubber." The XWD is so good, you can burn rubber but there is no squeal. With the sport suspension it's tremendously responsive. With snow tires, I haven't been stuck (although I've only be stuck in a C900 about 3 times since 1981) the only issue being the spoiler acts like a snowplow. The tech pitch is essentially that XWD is programmed to anticipate wheelspin, while the other AWDs available in 2008 were programmed to sense wheelspin and then react, causing a delay in processing and reaction. I didn't analyze the competition, the STI was too small and the Turbo-X so unique that I placed an order after leaving the Auto Show and didn't test drive anything else.
