...so far I think they're pretty good. Under general daily driving they are firm riding and turn in well but on long, sweeping, high speed curves they can feel a little "unsettled".

This is something I expected with so much tread depth on a new tire and I expect it to go away with some wear. The only thing (good and bad) is that they will likely last a long time (good for $$ but bad for performance as I need to wait to hit the sweet spot).

As far as noise goes, I've only put on a couple thousand miles and so far there's nothing noticable. I've had tires with noise problems in the past, including the AVID V4S on my wife's Jetta. With the AVIDS on the Jetta there is a slight high pitched wine but nothing like rumbling or the dreaded "shot bearing" sound.

I've had horrible experiences with some Bridgestones in the past that made me want to keep my snows on through the summer because of the howling worn bearing sound they produced. I would typically only consider Bridgestones if they were omni-directional these days (maybe not at all).

In any case, I think that the Continentals would be a good choice, but also would consider the ENVigors for a Saab as I haven't seen the downside yet. Perhaps it's waiting for me "down the road" but for now they're giving me a pretty good ride.

Regards,

Theo
