I've been to the dealer several times for various noises and haven't been successful in getting them identified or fixed so I thought I'd try asking here. It is a 2008 Turbo X SC with manual transmission with just over 30K miles. It has just been serviced and everything should be lubed and looked over.
Noise #1
Popping either in the brakes or suspension when moving forward after reversing or reversing after moving forward. I can feel the pop in the steering wheel and the brake pedal. Sometimes, it happens when just moving and sometimes it happens when applying the brakes. It happens when parking or pulling into the driveway.
Noise #2
Extremely annoying clinking sound from the center console that is related to the HVAC. On occasion I get the clinking noise when the ACC needs to heat the air. I normally run with the AC off and the temp set to 68. If its cold, I will set it to 72, but the noise occurs in both settings depending on the outside temp. I've uploaded a video of the noise here: http://flic.kr/p/8ugzi6
Noise #3
Intermittent noise that I am guessing is from the XWD system or possibly the power steering. When turning at parking lot speeds, there is sometimes a rubbing/grinding reverberation that makes a low pitched sound sort of like a cello. It vibrates/reverberates through the whole car and last for a second and stops. I don't think its the power steering because it happens when I am not physically turning the steering wheel (but the wheel is turned and it doesn't matter the angle).
Of course, there are plenty of other noises, but since this is my second 9-3, first was an 04 SS, I am quite accustomed to driving a box of Cracker Jacks. Any ideas???
