I have no issues with people posting issues that they are seeking help with regarding the care and maintenance of their cars. What I do take issue with is owners who have experienced singular episodes and extrapolating it to the make and model of car in general, as per franklin's post. I guess this is perhaps part of our culture now, where incidences must be made larger than life in order for people to feel justified in commenting.
This is the equivalent of someone getting a flat tire and then declaring that all Michelins (for example) are poorly designed and manufactured.
Saabs are wonderful in the snow. However, this depends significantly on the tires being used - would you have expected your new saab to come fitted with snow/ice tires?
A more interesting question is why window-washer fluid is not the same formula year-round? I honestly don't know - perhaps it has something to do with the evaporative nature of the higher alcohol content that would not work well in warmer weather.
Net, cars are built and delivered at different times of the year and sit on lots for a certain amount of time, and therefore the fluid may have been suitable at the time of production. Again, shooting the messenger - in this case the design of the car - is misplaced. The washer system would work without problems, given the right fluid was used for the right season.
I guess we will need to agree to disagree with respect to where the fault lies.
