I've also seen cars with those codes and the blinkers and cruise and high beam functions all still work.
I actually had a CIM taken apart this week to replace the clockspring for the steering wheel buttons, which as far as I can tell is not available as a separate spare part. The click-switches are separate parts, but you'd have to tear apart an extra CIM to get some replacement ones, but with the price of new CIMs that might be a more sensible option, it's kind of up to you.
I have got used CIMs to work, but they're finicky and it seems like the process you have to take differs depending on the model year of car concerned.
There's a cheap CIM on fleabay item 120683363667 that doesn't come with it's keys, so it can't be used in the car, but you could try salvaging the switches.
DISCLAIMER: The CIMs are very difficult to re-assemble, the switch packs have lots of little pins that slide into receivers on the main board, if you aren't super confident in your abilities with electronics I would not attempt this. One of my mechanics messed one up trying to salvage a clock-spring, I came up with a little better way to re-assemble them, but I was still pretty nervous getting everything to line back up.
If you think you want to try this you're welcome to P/M me for a phone # and I can tell you what I did.
Drew
