This is a question for all you '08 and up owners. Can someone do me a favor and look at their eyebrow LED lights on their headlamps and tell me if you see any color variation? By this I mean look closely at the curvature of the glass/plastic tube that the light travels through. On each end of the tube (in each headlamp) I think there is an LED light that shines through the tube, giving the appearance of a "strip". Can you look to see if both ends of the tube appear to be the same color?
I just had my headlamp replaced under warranty due to some weird spotting on the inside of the lens. However, the eyebrow LED light color on the new headlamp is obviously different. The build date on the new headlamp is January 2011 and since my car is an '09, the other headlamp (the one that wasn't replaced) was built in June '08.
What I'm looking to find out is if there is any color variation throughout the past 3 years of manufacturing. If anyone (or a few of you) would be so kind to just hit the "---" shaped button on their key fob ("Lead Me to the car button") and look at their LED strip (better to look at it in the dark or at night) I would appreciate it very much. Also, if you're able to help, please state the year of your car and if you're feeling ambitious, the build date on the headlamp (on a white sticker on top of each headlamp).
Here is a picture of my new and old headlamps (note the color difference). The new headlamp is the drivers side and is much more yellow on the inner part the tube than the passenger side, which has a uniform blue/white color.
Thanks everyone!
