If you plan to keep the vehicle, replace whole assembly. Have seen fuel pump failures within the mileage your at. Think Saab made the sender available separately to help costs with warranty replacements when under their wing.
Walbro is still OEM pump I believe. Some parts places list these but have no stock, leaving you to OEM Saab unit. Also order and fit a new pump o-ring regardless of sender only or whole assembly.
Since you have luxury to drop tank empty, do that. a 250lb tank is much more difficult to refit to vehicle than 45lb close to empty tank. Fuel lines are plastic clip quick connects. Can remove with simple press of a flathead screwdriver and finger. No special tool required.
