Two weeks later the battery (original at 4 years of service) was totally shot a coincidence or the cause of a faulty Sid message due to low performing battery, any ones guess I suppose. Current battery is now 2 years young so I don't think that caused an error message as others have reported in prior posts on the SID msg. I have had it with GM related security issues as my daughters Alero just went through this with a BCM module failing then two weeks later the ignition switch and passive security lock system failed. Cost about a grand to have the two repairs, but unfortunately she was stranded twice in two weeks and I had to go to her rescue each time, and no she wasn't around to help me out when I got stuck this past weekend, she was out tooling around in her sporty Olds Alero.. posted by 71.175.5...
