Just wanted to post that my 2003 Launch Edition is done, I posted a while back about the engine freewheeling and finally found bits and pieces of plastic broken around the timing chain. It was the plastic guide that was mounted to the metal rail between the two camshaft gears. The plastic got brittle, failed, and I'm guessing the timing chain jumped and caused interference to the vavles. There is 0 compression on all cylinders. Very easy to replace for those getting into 150K + range. My car did 190,000 before failure. Mobil 1 full syn at 10K.
Bought a used SportCombi and plan to use the Launch Edition for parts.
