A moment ago I spoke with my nearest Saab dealer and they told me that they use a power flush machine -- hooked up to the trans fluid cooler line. They said this method removes almost all of the old trans fluid, including the converter. I've got to tell you I'm skeptical as this would seem to fly in the face of how Saab specifies a trans fluid change for this particular transmission. Yikes!! confusing. Would using a power flush machine be risky on the valves inside? Upon changing the fluid, do you reset the TCM via a Tech 2?
If one Saab dealer uses a power flush, why wouldn't they all, including many Saab independents? Again, confusing.
BTW, the wife's car has 30,400 miles on and we bought it new after it sat on the dealers lot unsold for 14 months -- what a deal we got back in 2008!
