From a quality perspective, buy the best you can. Essentially, if you live in the rust belt, they will last longer. The problem of corrosion on "cheap" rear discs is the main reason for replacement here in Montreal. They lack the alloy elements, like nickel and zinc, that retard rust. An since these discs are often in the spray from the front wheels, they rust faster. I change them often even if the pads are still thick, and the discs are still thick enough.
So, in a word : buy a good premium quality disc from a good supplier like Raybestos, Bendix, AC/Delco, even GM/Saab. The price difference will be negligible compared to the short life of the "econo" discs.
