I've had my '08 aero for a year and truly love the car.
08 was the new front end design, and deleted all rub rails/black trim.
I went with the v6, partly because I wanted the better seats and stereo. I sometimes wish I had held out for an 09 with bluetooth, but at the time a 6speed manual wagon was hard to find, and my old car sold a little quicker than I thought it would.
Looking back, a 10 or 11 aero would be a great find, as you get the latest design, upgraded interior while still getting the efficiency of the 2.0.
However, if you haven't driven any of the newer 9-3's, I would take the 4cyl and the 6cyl for a spin if available. The v6 feels a lot more like the old 900/og9-3 4cyl with a a bit extra, while I was disappointed with the newer 4cyl.
Happy hunting
Adam
