Intermittently, the driver’s side door lock will not go up (or down) when I hit the unlock/lock button on my remote. All the other doors work as they should when I hit unlock for the second time or lock for the first time. I contacted the Saab dealer and they said this is a common problem and the driver’s side door lock motor will have to be replaced at a cost of $500 or so. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there a way to lubricate the door lock mechanism so it works or, is this a once I have it opened up I should replace the lock motor? Anything else that should be replaced while the door is opened up? 2008 9-3 AERO SS with about 44,000 miles.
