Amazing, when you thought you've heard it all someone chimes in with a floating brake caliper. That's rich I'm going to use that one. The caliper is bolted tight to the caliper bracket which is bolted tight to the steering knuckle, if anything was loose or able to float around one would end up with their brake caliper bolts (that bolt the caliper to the bracket) snapping which would releasing the caliper from the bracket leaving the person with no brakes. Scary to think what your indie had in mind if you insisted on them mounting the 16" wheels. Wouldn't take but a few turns of the caliper bolts to loosen the caliper from its bracket. I'd find a different indie ASAP
