Hi 9-3SS guys – I just bought a 2007 9-3 Aero, so I’m joining your forum. It’s my ninth SAAB. I hadn’t intended on it, but it came my way, and as I’m a SAAB addict. I just couldn’t pass it up. One owner, imported from Germany, all records, massively dealer serviced and up to date, 87k and in perfect condition. Having had OG900Ts, 9000s and OG 9-3s, (never got to own a 9000 AERO or Viggen) this is my first Epsilon platform, and my first 6 cyl. It is an automatic, but my research shows that the 6 speed is a pretty good gearbox.

It doesn’t particularly feel like any of my other SAABs, as I always felt that there was a common thread in the way the cars felt, however, the sporting nature of the AERO makes it the best handling SAAB I’ve ever had. This 2.8 has gobs of power, yet it’s easy and linear. The SAAB techs I asked said that the engine was durable and reliable, but expensive when it breaks, but they’d yet to see anything major.

I’ve just ordered up some Redline 0w30 and a Mann filter. Are there any tips that you guys could give me as far as doing the right stuff right? I suspect that this will be my last SAAB (I HATE GM), and I’d love to have it for a long time…
