Check the wiring at bulb socket to see if the brown ground wire is burned to crisp.
Saab came out with a pig tail repair kit (p/n 12762390) for that issue and also a software update for the UEC to lower the voltage to the bulbs in hope to extend the life of them.
I'm not to sure of the effectiveness of the software or the pigtail repair kit since I have seen some old repairs being burned again.
It seems to be more of an issue that the white coat lab rats just couldn't figure out the demands for wires and crimps for the load of the bulb.
The position lamp is probably one of the small parking light bulbs inside the headlight assembly. You have to remove the hi beam bulb to replace those.
