I have had this happen a couple times.
Bad one was a new customer simply updating the radio for a bluetooth bug. New replacement instrument did the same thing on the speedo.
There is no zero peg so you can dissasemble the instrument and put the needle back to zero. Do this by just pointing it correctly, not removing etc. Boot it up and see what it does. Eventually you will get it correct.
Make sure your Saab dealer sends info on the intake valve job to the Saab tec center. GM might cover them so we were told to send in all the jobs we have done.
