Check to be sure the caliper is not seized by jacking up the car and spinning the wheel by hand. Slight resistance is OK, but excessive force means the caliper piston is seized, the caliper sliding surfaces are binding or the brake pads are very tight. Try to retract the piston and if it moves that is good. Make sure the caliper and pads are free to move. If the brake hose is in a bracket and the bracket is rusting internally, it could be constricting the hose.
