Intermediate shaft bearing, axle shaft bearing replacement help?

Hello All:
(03 9-3 Linear Sedan 5sp manual)
I am going to tackle the aforementioned today. I know the bearing is shot due to the play in the drivetrain and squeaking. While I have found very little research online, I am going to try this one blind so any comments would be greatly appreciated. So to start, I am going to take the bolts off the hub so I can get the axle slid past the hub for removal, that is straightforward. Now the tricky part, I am guessing the axle just comes out with a firm tug? I think most all come out that way, I assume it is just a spline with a snap clip on the end of it? My plan is to pull the whole axle out then the housing is held in place by 3 bolts (and the seat is held on with two bolts) so I'll just remove that housing assembly so I can yank the bearing out. Once the bearing is swapped, just bolt the housing back on and slide the axle back through and "snap" it back into the gearbox and reassemble?
Am I missing anything here or is that it? Is the axle a smooth shaft from behind the shaft bearing to gearbox? I don't think this job requires dissecting the axle, and I can reuse the clips and dust guard, right?
Like I said, this is a blind run for me so if anyone can chime in ASAP I would greatly appreciate it. And of course, assuming this works, or doesn't, I'll do a quick write up and share my progress.
Thanks in advance.
