Valeo or Saab only Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 18 Jun 2017 18:04:24 In Reply to: Heater Blower Brand, phil94028, Sun, 18 Jun 2017 17:44:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Valeo was supposedly the OEM supplier of this blower motor to Saab. I cheaped out and bought a Nordic brand that looked identical in the photos. The housing of the Nordic was distorted and never fit right, the bushing failed in under a year leaving brass swarf on top of the passenger side knee panel (I found this when I removed the failed Nordic brand blower to replace with a Valeo) and it was noisy from day one.
In contrast, the Valeo fit perfectly, I was able to re-seat all seven of the housing screws, and it is nearly as quiet, maybe as quiet, as the original Saab blower.
The URO blower doesn't even look like the Saab and Valeo blowers. With these blower replacements you get exactly what you pay for, and you don't get what you aren't willing to pay for. Not a fun job and made even worse by having to do this twice!
If you need instructions and D-I-Y advise, I am your man. As I said, I have done this job twice.
