Judging from the photo your plug looks fine. The factory may have put oil on the threads upon original installation. Heat from combustion will tend to cause discoloration. Way back in the day we coated new plug threads with "anti-seize" at the dealer during plug changes. "Anti-seize" is a compound lubricant that prevents steel from "sticking" to aluminum. The spark plug is at the point of combustion and is subjected to intense heat. Any oil on the threads will darken because of this. We used "anti-seize" due to the fact that steel and aluminum tend to "bind" together as they are dissimiliar metals. "Anti-seize" withstands high heat better than motor oil.
Hope this helps, Mike Stone
