I had an 08 AERO recently with a no crank scenario and a few codes that did not perfectly match all the other ABS/ESP failures I had seen.
Since I had replaced the ABS/ESP module less than a year ago with an XeModex rebuilt one, I was pretty sure it had to be a faulty rebuild and replaced it with another but the problem returned.
Luckily, the problem returned hard enough so I could trace it to one or two of the 4 CAN wire terminals going into ABS/ESP module. I was surprised that those wire terminals did not trigger the same set of codes that when the module itself is the culprit.
After removing the tie straps and electric tape so each wire was exposed at the harness connector, I could trip the problem on and off by wiggling those CAN wires. Male and female terminals did not have enough contact evidenced by a drag test of the female terminal.
Took for wires from a junk car and spliced them in and problem was gone.
By golly, trying to figure out the secret release for the wires took the longest time. Luckily, I had the harness connector from the junk car that I could break apart and see what held the terminals in place.
But finding rodent damage on a car does not make it easier.
