RPMs hunting when in reverse Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Thu, 16 Feb 2023 09:28:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2010 9/3 2.0T Automatic, 197K miles.
When I put the car in reverse, the RPMs hunt up and down, varying by a few hundred RPM. This is both with the brake depressed so the car isn't moving, and if I let off the brake to back up. It's fine (or at least a lot less pronounced) at idle, and in forward gears. I suspected a leaky vacuum line, and replaced all the vacuum lines in the engine compartment, with no change in symptoms.
It's not throwing any codes at all.
Anyone seen this sort of behavior?
Thanks!
