sell it...trade it. or keep it...

Posted earlier about getting water in the engine this weekend.

Summary - 99 9-3 - 80K miles. pretty good condition until Sat. Went thru puddle - went thru very slowly turbo was not spooling up, died quickl (don't tell me I should not have done that...) other cars did same - mine died.

Tried to restart 4X over 90 min period - no start. Towed to local Saab dealer - hydrolocked engine.

Have car now - runs good and actually runs better...

Here's what they did:
1) drained H2O from cylinder - drained oil (also had water)
2) new plugs
3) changed oil 2X -recommends changing oil every few weeks for next 2 months
4) cleaned and reoiled my K&N air filter
5) compression leak test - nothing abnormal detected
6) told me to call insurance company - give them a heads up in case catastrophic problem happens within next few weeks or so.

Have read various doom and gloom scenarios on hydrolock causing downstream problems with connecting rods, camshafts, et al, plus electronics.

Saab tech told me that these engines are incredibly durable and he would not be too concerned. Tech seemed like a good guy, and I trust this dealership as they have done good work in the past, and are upfront.

That said, would be interested in other POV's on this. If I decide to trade/sell - want to do it NOW.

Thanks
