First, I'd get some jack stands. The best are the ratcheting type, where you can set the height. At a minimum, some cheap non-adjustable ones.
Yes, you may never be under the car, but you should really never work on a car lifted only by a jack, floor or not. True, most of us will skip the jack stands, and just use the floor jack when swapping out a tire. But even that is a risk, if just a small one. A floor jack is a hydraulic device, and it can blow a seal. Or someone could accidently hit the release. You may only want to do tires ,but if you ever plan on doing more, like brakes (very simple, great cost savings), you'll want jack stands.
I also recommend NOT overbuying the jack. Floor jacks are heavy. Yes, you don't want a flimsy cheap one, but avoid getting something much bigger than you need. It takes up room in the garage, and needs to be dragged back and forth. So look for smaller ones.
