My 99 9-5 with 59000 miles seems to have a suspension problem. It started about 5000 miles ago and has been getting progressively worse. The rear bounces like crazy when I hit even the slightest bump, sometimes the rear end wants to "skim" sideways which can be really scary (tires are brand new). I'm guessing shocks but I never experienced such a severe change in ride - almost dangerous if I'm caught by surprise on a bumpy surface. I called the dealer and they said $1,000 for rear shocks alone - I know, I know - I should take it in and have it checked out. I've looked into Bilsteins and they're under $500 for all four shocks. Any advice.
