Just thought I drop a post on a positive experience. I needed to replace the cracked windshield on my '00 Aero and ended up getting a good repair with a good windshield. Parts & labor, it cost me $330 (I live in Washington DC). The installation crew from Royal Auto Glass treated the car well and appeared to be meticulous. The installed windshield is PPG OEM glass. It is identical to the original Sekurit windshield in every detail, including the black trim bands around the windshield and above the rear-view mirror. It also appears to have the much-talked about solar blocking required to keep the AAC system working properly. Hopefully the attached picture will come through all right.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post this here so the next time some searches under 'windshield' they'll find this and know what to expect in glass quality and cost. For what it's worth, I shopped around with about 10 different shops. Quotes ranged from $230 up to $490. The cheap quotes were using cheaper quality glass or they plain just wouldn't tell me the brand of replacement glass. A local SAAB dealership recommended Royal Auto glass (that who they use) and it worked out well.
Good Luck,
KevinH
