I have 9000, 9-5 Aero Wagon AND 3 grandsons who spend a lot of time here. Also, their parents have a 9000. The 9-5 wagon is definately smaller than the 9000. Less width across the back seat, and less storage space in the rear. The 9000 hatch carries more stuff than the 9-5 wagon.
You can put three car seats across the back, but it is very tight, and you simply don't have enough room in the back to take much luggage with you for 5 people. I've watched our kids trying to fit the three grandkids plus stuff into their 9000 when they are going somewhere, and it is a very tight ride. The equally big problem is with day to day running around and putting kids - no room for their friends - plus sports gear, etc. It really isn't sufficient. They are now out looking for a van.
You have to face it - at this stage of your life you would be much better off getting a mini-van.
