For example. The August program for the 9-5 2.3LPT (504).

Lease Factor: .00032 APR translation: .76%

Residual on 36 months: 44% (12k) This residual is the same as ALG's 30 month residual. It was subsidized by Saab to lower payments.

When a lease special is run, you cannot beat the rates.

However, I agree 100% with you in regards to used leasing. The dealer supplied lease factors can usually be beat if you do enough research. Residuals however are set by ALG and rarely differ from one leasing company to another.
ALG is an independent lease residual calculation firm. They supply the US with 99% of the residuals that we see. Most new car manufacturers even use them to set their residuals.
