Rotten hose - advice (pic attached)

Yesterday, when I went to change my oil I noticed wetness on the cover around the oil filler cap. When I removed the plastic cover, I discovered that the vent hose at the top of the engine was cracked (see pic). I immediately checked my oil level, to find it was a little low (maybe 1/2 qt). Anyway, I went ahead with my oil change, and to temporariy fix the hose, I cut about 2 inches from the end of the hose. The hose actually had two breaks in it (one on top, clearly visible in the picture, and another beneath).
One observation is that this hose seems to be fairly rotted - very soft/squishy. I wouldn't trust this to last much longer. My car's still under warranty (CPO) so I'll have the hose fixed next week.
My question for everyone here is: Does the presence of this rotted hose indicate anything (an upcoming failure, etc). If this hose is rotted, does that say other hoses are also rotted and should also be replaced. What should I be concerned about? The vehicle is a '00 Aero (79K miles), w/ complete service records. Mobil-1 oil changes every 5k miles, since I bought it at 40K.
Thanks,
KevinH
