Not trying to plug his car (and I don't work for him)-but Brian@saabcenter.com has a '01 9-5 Aero demo for sale on TSN in the classifieds right now-asking $33,152 w/auto, vented heated seats, the optional BBS wheels and black pearle grille. He was helping me out with a '01 9-5 wagon when his personal demo car came up (he got a '02 Viggen convert as his personal car). If I didn't need the extra space and utility of the wagon, I would've jumped on this deal.
Anyway, I don't remember what the cap cost reduction is or any of that-you'd have to contact him. I don't know how the Aero you are currently looking at is optioned out either-so we could be comparing apples and oranges here.
All in all-it still sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Unlike NHSaab's post-I seriously doubt you'd get much below that price (depending how it's optioned)-even being a demo. $30k for a '01 Aero demo would probably just have the stick and maybe heated seats and/or metallic paint if you're lucky. Add an auto, vented seats or the BBS wheels (which seem to don every Aero of late) and there's no way you'd get it for $30k.
I don't think the '02 Aero lease will be anything close to what you're getting on an '01.
