V-6 turbo description slightly inaccurate, I believe

Matthew,
I believe that the V-6 turbo is an assymetric design. In this case, it does not mean that only the one bank of cylinders is turbocharged (as I believe was implied), it means that the exhaust from only one bank of cylinders is used to drive a turbocharger that supplies increased intake manifold pressure to both banks of cylinders.
The tricky part of this is the difference in back-pressure. Driving a turbo charger with exhaust gas creates a substantial amount of back pressure in the exhaust manifold. Only having this back pressure on one bank of the engine creates an "interesting" engine management problem. Also, I believe this assymmetric design is why the turbo is embedded in the exhaust manifold, and not further downstream in the exhaust system (after both banks of exhaust have joined together). For doing an LPT (light pressure turbo) design, this approach probably works OK (the volume of exhaust gas from one bank is sufficient to spin the smaller turbo necessary for an LPT design), even if it is a bit unusual. I am guessing they also did this for packaging reasons, to get the V-6 into the 9-5 engine bay, but that is pure speculation.
Of course, what I was assuming you were describing (one bank turbocharged on the intake side) would be substantially more difficult to do from an engine management side, and with respect to intake plumbing.
I don't know exactly what you meant to convey, but I just wanted to make it clear that both banks of the turbo V-6 see the same increased intake pressure that would be associated with a conventional turbo (light pressure) design.
My $0.02.
