I don't disagree with your findings at all.
I was quoting Saab Australia's latest publicity information which they sent me Monday (the 2002 model is about to be released here). I doublechecked this: 0-100 kph AMS 6.9s AAS 8.2s; AMW 7.3s; AAW 8.5. If you send your email I will send you a scanned copy if you like.
I actually contemplated buying a new 9-5 Aero back in Feb. One (2000 model)was available new with a 12k discount. The dealer gave me 2 cars to test drive: a 2L auto and an aero auto. I'm afraid to say neither did a lot for me. I had more fun in a 97 9k manual aero.
Incidentally you can go to the http://www.drive.com.au site and play comparisons between these cars before you drive them. I admit driving is the real test however.
Well your comments interest me. As soon as I get a chance I'll drive one of these new ones. I'll have my stopwatch with me.
