I have no idea if this will work in your case. A little while back, I thought it was a good idea to wax my 01 9-5 with a product called Nu Finnish. Little did I know that I would have to spend so much time and effort and try so many products, even including Varsol, to try to get that stuff off the black trim. The parts manager at my dealership laughed when I told him about my predicament. When he was younger, he had the same problem with his mother's VW, so he did the same as I did and asked the VW dealer for advice. After relishing the look on his face when he told him all the trim had to be replaced, he let him on a little secret which he passed on to me (without suggesting before hand that I change the trim...) and it worked like a charm, although you do have to put some strength into it: Just erase it using a white crayon eraser.
Good luck
