90K service Posted by billherbst [Email] (#2137) [Profile/Gallery] (more from billherbst) on Wed, 26 Jul 2006 11:44:31 In Reply to: Purchasing 1999 9-5, Lisa, Wed, 26 Jul 2006 09:26:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
By itself, 87K miles is no big deal. But keep in mind that you'll be due for the 90K maintenance service very shortly.
That's not as expensive as the 60K or 120K servicings (since those include replacement of the timing belt and tensioner pulleys; Saab pays for the belt at 60K, but the tensioners and labor are still out-of-pocket). Nonetheless, 90K is a major service interval. I don't have the exact cost at my fingertips, but it's gotta be at least $500 from a Saab dealer, and perhaps more.
This is no reason not to buy the car if it's in good shape, but you might factor that expense into the selling price negotiations.
