Ihad never noticed the fogs in the mirror, which does not excuse the lousy setup, but I totally agree with you that Saabs have generally well thought out interiors. There is always room for improvement but I would not think a minute of swapping with another car. After buying the 9-5, I sat in the new class C Mercedes, after all I could have bought one for about the same price, and I really thought it was cheap looking and uncomfortable compared to the 9-5. They even had clumsy wheels squeezed on the side of the seat to ajust the back of the seat. Reminded me of something from a cheap econobox and from another era at that.
