Nivomat, automatic load leveling. Same thing Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Nivomat?........, Hunter, Tue, 5 Dec 2006 18:49:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Load leveling and Nivomat is the same thing and Saab have that on 4 door too (if the suspension code is 7 on the product plate) when looking through the parts program.
You see, when giving out advice over the internet without being able to look at the car and the product plate, you have to take all possible options into account otherwise you might fool the person asking the question.
And the shop doing the job might also install the wrong shock as have happened many, many times before with the Volvos using Nivomat shocks.
The spring is a lot weaker on those cars since the load leveling part of the shock helps lift the rear end too.
If you plunk a non leveling shock on those cars, the rear end will sag down and it looks awful.
So if you tell a poster, oh yeah, it is only $100.00 a shock and then they go to a shop where they know how to look and they realize that this particular car needs the $575.00 shock, the owner might think the shop is a crook trying to make money.
