If I understand, it does not even crank? if so these issues come to mind:
- neutral position switch. you have an automatic ... the car might "think" its in gear and thus lock out the starter. try "rowing" the gear selector while holding the key in the start position.
- loose wire at the starter. this is a known problem and easily fixed. just tighten it.
A DIC rarely fails intermittently. Even so, when a DIC fails the engine will crank, but not start.
I know that an aero wagon can haul a lot of stuff, but a 1000 shark tank is more than I would expect. you must have emptied the tank first. :-)
