Driving it a 2nd time, I tried to simply ignore the fact that it was a 'Test drive' and really just spent time in the saddle on my normal commute - normal traffic, normal radio, etc.
I didn't find that I noticed the idle at intersections, so it may be that the perceptions of a more coarse idle are accurate, but over time, and with other things going on, it diminishes as a concern.
That said, I will take the advice and drive the Linear/Aero versions to appreciate the difference. But, going with either of these means doing without the ventilated seats. And I've done the "black interior/aluminum trim" look before on an A4, so that look is somewhat dated to my eye on the Aero.
Decisions decisions.
PS - Your forum is quite enjoyable. Good to see the passion and loyalty for "the Saab Way" in such strength. The discussion on the wood dash above is particularly entertaining. Wood vs plastic seems to be a very subjective topic on most any board. Hard to pick a winner there. I happen to like the matt finish of the '02's (I think the entire cockpit is very nicely done, whether in 01 or 02 wood), but I'm a total Saab virgin, what do I know except the leather and wood in my MB.
