The clunk from the brake pedal could be the brake light switch... Have someone stand behind the car and make sure that your brake lights are always working when you put pressure on the pedal. If the switch sticks the lights won't come on until it suddenly "clunks" (it's more like a click) and THEN they'll work. Get this fixed before someone rear-ends you if your brake lights don't always come on.
