Recent Brake Job 2003 AERO Posted by Carlo [Email] (#356) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Carlo) on Sun, 3 Jun 2007 10:49:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks to all the posts on here I did a complete front and rear brake job on my 2003 AERO with 76,000 miles. I installed Akebono pads from TireRack (cost $163.60)along with a complete set of premium drilled and slotted rotors from http://www.r1concepts.com (cost $280.00). I also flushed the brake fluid with the help of a Motive Brake Bleeder.
It's been a week now and I am extremely happy with the quality of the rotors, feel of the pads and lack of brake dust... actually NO brake dust!!! These pads are amazing! The pads set in after a few days and bite very well. Time will tell how the rotors wear and I have yet to do any spirited canyon driving...
FYI... I had PBR ultimate ceramic on the rears and factory on the front. The PBR's were extremely dirty, left the rims covered in brake dust the day after washing but they had great peddle feel.
I hope this helps anyone out there looking for a very nice combination of brake and rotors. I'll keep you posted of the results.
Cheers!
Carlo
