I am no Anders but my amateur analysis Posted by Andrew [Email] (#1013) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Andrew) on Fri, 17 Aug 2007 06:32:30 In Reply to: So, what is your opinion Anders?, Boston Baab, Thu, 16 Aug 2007 10:31:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If this is a bogus assumption, please let me know:
My 2000 9-5 SE is not elligible for the recall either. I called Saab abecause of Cylinder 4 misfire codes that the dealer said were pobably one but possibbly both (I have v-6) DICs going bad. Saab agreed to cut me a check for the cost of two DICs ($347.20). I am waiting for the next CEL to come on and then I will likely get a new DIC for the cylinder bank where 4 is loacted. Thing is, I am suspecting fule pump myself. Here is my amateur self diagnosis. The car had very hard starts and then the misfire codes. I have been turning the car to on but not cranking, letting the fuel pump warm up (pressurize?) and then starting the car. No more hard starts and, so far, knock on wood, no more CELs. So, assuming it isn't the DIC but is the fuel pump I am probably out more money but atleast I think I may have isolated the problem.
Cheers,
Andrew
