Sport Exhaust - sound changed dramatically, normal???

I installed my Remus sport exhaust 6 weeks ago and put about 500 miles on it before this last weekend. After the 1st week, the exhaust note changed a little and has been stable since until last weekend. I drove an hour and a half at 80-85 mph and by the time I arrived at my location, my exhaust was noticeably louder to the point that it annoys my wife...she doesn't notice much with my car, but when we pulled into our destination, she commented on how loud the car became.
In general, I don't mind the sound, but it is approaching obnoxious for a luxury car. Is there something wrong with my exhaust, or is this just a "heat curing" thing that occured on my longer than normal trip.
