So the starter is cranking the engine and you have fuel pressure at the rail. I would verify that you are getting spark from the DI - if not then you would likely have some pretty involved trouble shooting - wiring, connections, etc. And though extremely rare there can be ECU issues or problems with the wiring going to it.
You can also put a meter on the CPS connections while cranking to make sure that it is sending it's signals over to the ECU.
Sounds like it might be some sort of wiring/connection issue.
