2002 9-5 Aero & Others Posted by Cork [Email] (#716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Cork) on Tue, 19 Feb 2002 14:25:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
One of the most frequently offered but most seldom, if ever, explained descriptions of the difference between the 2001 and 2002 9-5's is one that says that all 9-5's will henceforth have the same suspension as the 2001 Aero. Is this a literal truth or simply a way of saying that the 2002 line has stiffer springs across the board? Presumably something would have to be different to accomodate the weight of the V-6 (but who knows). I suppose the Aero still has larger disks and the wheels necessary as well as low profile tires. The reason that I'm curious is that I had an Aero suspension installed, part for part, in my '99 2.3 LPT and found tremendous improvement but something well short of what one has running in an Aero on low profile tires. The Aero's larger disks really matter, too. Anyway, the Aero's ride in the 2001 model year was about as stiff as I'd want a family wagon to be, so I'm also curious on the change in the Aero for '02. This ignorant ramble is all preliminary to my actually test driving any '02 models for which any and all actual info would be appreciated. I've already read the model updates offered in the general press here and in the UK (since I read this BB regularly). Many thanks
