The Check Engine light is the engine control's way of telling you something is wrong. That can be something minor that the engine control can compensate for, or something seriously broken.
The car stopped running - that's usually the sign of something wrong. It's likely that whatever caused the engine to stop generated a bunch of fault codes, which lit the lights. Some of those faults won't be reset simply by disconnecting the battery. The TCS faults are probably associated with a number of throttle faults.
So, yes, it could have been 'just one of those things' - a slug of water in the fuel line, UFOs, whatever. That generated a bunch of faults that haven't cleared.
It's likely that there is at least one thing wrong, keeping the light on, but the engine control is working around it, for now.
I don't recommend hoping it goes away - it's a nice approach, but ultimately useless. It's winter, and having a car stop suddenly isn't just a pain, it can be dangerous. The car is running - get it down to a dealer or a good Saab independent shop and get the codes read out. Just because you get fault codes doesn't mean that parts have to be replaced. But reading the codes, clearing the codes, and seeing what codes, if any, come back, can help a lot. You could have a bad fuel pump, weak DI, other bad electrics, etc. There isn't a 'bad fuel pump' code, but a good mechanic can use the codes to do some troubleshooting.
The oil leak is probably just an oil leak - don't assume all problems are inter-related - my stubbed toe may have nothing to do with my sinus infection. The problem can be many, many things, some cheap, some not so. But if the car is running (for now), only the codes can tell you what's up.
